Ocean Park Finalist in Top Vic Award

Friday, 30th August 2013

Champion New Zealand racehorse Ocean Park (Thorn Park-Sayyida, by Zabeel) is in contention for the Victorian Racehorse of the Year award to be announced on Sunday night, reports NZ Racing Desk. However, the retired Cox Plate winner, who is standing his inaugural season at Waikato Stud this year, faces the most formidable of opposition with Black Caviar, who is chasing a historic third title, and her half-brother All Too Hard, the other finalists. Ocean Park's former trainer Gary Hennessy will attend the function as he has been nominated for Victoria's highest training honour, the Fred Hoysted Medal. Ocean Park was one of the finest kiwi gallopers to cross the Tasman in 20 years winning 5 Gr1s and over $4 million in prize money. He stands at Waikato Stud at a fee of NZ$30,000 + gst with a live foal guarantee.
