Sea Moon To Debut In Makybe

Monday, 2nd September 2013

Former smart UK galloper Sea Moon (Beat Hollow-Eva Luna, by Alleged) will make his Australian debut in the $350,000 Gr1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on Saturday, reports racingnetwork.com.au. Sea Moon, who will carry the familiar navy blue colours of new owner Lloyd Williams, has not raced since finishing mid-field in last year's Prix d l'Arc de Triomphe behind Solemia. Under the tutelage of Sir Michael Stoute, the Juddmonte Farms-bred 6YO entire established himself as one of the most promising gallopers in Europe with wins in the Gr2 Hardwicke Stakes (12 furlongs) at Ascot, defeating 2011 Melbourne Cup winner Dunaden, & the Gr2 Great Voltigeur (12 furlongs) at York where he defeated three-time Gr1 winner Al Kazeem. Sea Moon also has two Gr1-placings to his credit, finishing third in the English St Leger and runner-up to St Nicholas Abbey in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Turf. His overall record is 5 wins & 3 placings from 10 starts for £660,941 earnings.
