The Aga Khan Welcomes Back Soumillon

Tuesday, 3rd September 2013

High profile European hoop Christophe Soumillon will soon be donning the famous bottle green and red silks of The Aga Khan when he returns as the retained stable jockey in France in 2014. According to bloodstock.racingpost.com, Soumillon has signed a 2-year contract. Twice a winner in the prestigious Gr1 Prix de 'Arc de Triomphe aboard Aga Khan-owned gallopers (Dalakhani & Zarkava), Soumillon was replaced in 2009 after an 8-year stint as stable rider by Christophe Lemaire, whose own contract comes to an end this year. Lemaire will still have rides for the Aga Khan on an ad-hoc basis from the start of 2014.
