2nd Crop Foals Of Therock Excite

Wednesday, 4th September 2013

According to the bush telegraph, the second crop foals of Fastnet Rock's 7YO son Therock (Fastnet Rock-Bumps, by Scenic) have impressed everybody with their depth of quality, including broodmare owners, stud master Christoph Bruechert & Therock's trainer Gerald Ryan. Bruechert, who owns Bombora Downs Stud on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula where Therock stands, is justly excited about Therock's progeny. "Therock is a magnificent looking stallion," claims Bruechert. "He is producing some sensational foals who are inheriting their sire's type, strength and correctness." Ryan, who says he held Therock in the "same regard as Melito & Rothesay", is impressed by what he has seen thus far. "I am really impressed by his yearlings and the foals he has produced so far this year," he said. "There are some exceptional types amongst them, they look very much like him and I have already identified a couple of yearlings that I intend to train." The well-related Therock hails from a very successful black-type producing family that includes Gr2 Maribyrnong Plate winner Catnipped, Gr2 VRC St Leger winner Full At Last, Gr3 winner Life's A Bounty & the stakes winning mare Miss Prospect, dam of Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Reward For Effort & stakes winner Consular. He is standing the 2013 season for $3,850.
