Colic Claims Court Command

Friday, 6th September 2013

Queensland's Wattle Brae Stud has announced the death of quality young stallion Court Command (Commands-Court House Lane, by Zoffany) due to a severe bout of colic. Wattle Brae's stud manager, Ian Brady, informed Court Command's shareholders late on Wednesday night after spending three days battling to save his life. "It is with great sadness that I inform the breeding public of the loss of our lovely stallion Court Command due to the rapid and severe onset of colic," Brady said. Brady explained that the 10YO grandson of Danehill was rushed to University of Queensland's Gatton campus on Sunday in extreme pain and discomfort and after a brief period of stabilisation underwent surgery but unfortunately did not recover. Court Command, who was Queensland's Champion First Season Sire in 2011-12, sired 35 winners from 67 individual runners across 7 countries. His best progeny to date are the stakes performers Fifth Column (QLD), Best Command (NZ) & Nicked and Court (QLD).
