Arkansas Derby Winner Retired To Stud

Monday, 9th September 2013

Overanalyze, winner of this year's Gr1 Arkansas Derby, has been retired from racing, reports drf.com. Owner Mike Repole, who described Overanalyze as "a special horse", said that stud plans are pending and that an announcement would be made within the month. The 3YO son of Dixie Union was trained by Todd Pletcher and won 4 of 11 starts for US$1,045,906 in prizemoney. Overanalyze also won the Gr2 Belmont Futurity Stakes & Gr2 Remsen Stakes but finished down the track in both the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. His final racetrack appearance was a 5th placed effort behind Capo Bastone in the Gr1 King's Bishop Stakes last month. Overanalyze is out of the unraced Unacloud making him a half-brother to Gr1 winner Meadow Breeze.
