Not Listenin'tome Stars On Debut

Monday, 9th September 2013

The Team Hawkes-trained Not Listenin'tome (Dylan Thomas-Flame of Sydney, by Encosta de Lago) looked like a potential star of the future when routing his rivals by 5.5-lengths eased down in a 3YO maiden plate (1100m) at Bendigo yesterday. The 3YO was purchased by George Moore Bloodstock for $270,000 at the 2012 Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale, and therefore seems destined to continue his racing career in Hong Kong. According to winning jockey Dwayne Dunn, Not Listenin'tome has the requisite talent to match it with the top echelon. "We've always had a big opinion of him but it was a matter of waiting for race day to see what was under the bonnet," Dunn said. "I'm not sure how much longer we'll see him in Australia because he's a very nice horse." From the stakes-winning mare Flame of Sydney, Not Listenin'tome hails from the same family as stakes winners What Can I Say, Wry Hero, Gibraltar Campion & Only Words.
