Keeneland Sep Day-2: Three 7-Figure Yearlings
In early overnight trade on Day-2 of the annual September Sale at Keeneland in Kentucky, three yearlings brought seven-figure sums. Lane Seilger of Baumann Stables went to US$1.3 million to secure a filly by triple Gr1-winning Darley shuttler & US Eclipse Award-winning stallion Bernardini (A.P.Indy-Cara Rafaela, by Quiet American) out of Pacific Spell. The filly is a half-sister to champion US multiple Gr1 winner Proud Spell. Meanwhile, M.V.Magnier was the successful bidder at US$1 million for a Tapit colt out of Pretty 'n' Smart. The same amount was paid by Mike Puhich (as agent) for a Smart Strike colt out of champion Canadian mare Serenading.
