Keeneland Sep Day-3: US$2.2 Million Indian Charlie Filly

Thursday, 12th September 2013

In the US, big-spending owner Mandy Pope stumped up US$2 million for an Indian Charlie filly in the early hours of this morning as Day-3 of the marathon Keeneland September Yearling Sale entered high altitude territory. A daughter of Take Charge Lady, who has already left the Gr1-winning half-siblings Will Take Charge & Take Charge Indy, the filly's price is the highest paid for a yearling at Keeneland September since 2010. The Hill 'n' Dale-consigned yearling was the highlight of a sensational session that also witnessed the sale of a Tiznow filly for US$1.75 million, a Medaglia d'Oro colt for US$1.7 million, a Tapit colt for US$1.55 million and a Galileo colt for US$1.4 million.
