Unbeaten Toormore Set For National Call Up
UK trainer Richard Hannon's unbeaten juvenile Toormore (Arakan-Danetime Out, by Danetime) is under serious consideration for the €200,000 Gr1 Vincent O'Brien National Stakes (7 furlongs) at The Curragh on Sunday, reports racinguk.com. The Middleham Park Racing-owned 2YO made it two wins from two starts when winning the Gr2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood in July. With just nine remaining entries, four of which are from the Ballydoyle team, Middleham Park's racing manager Tim Palin believes it may be too good an opportunity to refuse. "I would need to speak to the owners and the trainer, but there is no Kingman, no War Command and no Australia in the race on Sunday and my initial reaction is we should run," said Palin. "He hasn't done any proper work since Goodwood, but I spoke to Richard Hannon Jnr last night and we decided we would leave him in, in case the race cuts up and there are only the nine entries now." Palin added, "He is a very clean-winded horse and very easy to get ready. We could give him one piece of work later in the week and he'd be ready to run on Sunday, he's that sort of horse."
