Keeneland Sep Day-3: US$310,296 Average
At Wednesday's third session of the 70th Keeneland September Yearling Sale in Lexington, Kentucky, 135 yearlings sold for US$41,890,000 at an average of US$310,296 and a median of US$240,000. The bullishness of the market continued with five seven-figure yearlings sold, topped by the US$2.2 million paid for an Indian Charlie half-sister to Gr1 winning colts Take Charge Indy (A.P. Indy-Take Charge Lady, by Dehere) & Will Take Charge (Unbridled's Song-Take Charge Lady, by Dehere), winner of this year's Travers Stakes. "It was a very good sale from start to finish, from top to bottom," said Keeneland's Director of Sales Geoffrey Russell. "We were hoping to get as many buyers in here as possible to be able to sort through these horses and establish their value. I think every day has accomplished that, and today exceeded that. It was very impressive today."
