Keeneland Sep Day-5: US$126,100 Average
The Keeneland September Yearling Sale resumed on Saturday with a continuation of the robust market conditions that were present in the opening four days of trading. On the fifth day, 280 yearlings sold for US$35,308,000 at an average of US$126,100 and a median of US$112,500. The highest priced offering on day five was for a Tapit filly out of the Carson City mare Seeinisbelievin which sold for US$475,000. Consigned by Gainesway as agent, the filly is a half-sister to stakes winner Aquapazza. "I think the sale continued as we had hoped," Keeneland Director of Sales Geoffrey Russell said. "The format of Book 1 (which covered Monday September 9 through Thursday September 12) left a lot of buyers unable to fill their orders, and they came out swinging today. The consistency of the prices was very, very strong."
