Champs Elysees Sires First Stakes Winner
Two-year-old filly Avenue Gabriel (Champs Elysees-Vas y Carla, by Gone West) became the first stakes winner for her beautifully bred sire Champs Elysees (Danehill-Hasili, by Kahyasi) when winning the Listed Flame Of Tara Stakes (9 furlongs) at The Curragh last Sunday, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. Avenue Gabriel, who took her record to 2 wins & 2 placings (including the Gr2 Debutante Stakes at The Curragh & the Gr3 Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown) from 4 starts for €58,285 earnings, scored by a neck from the Hurricane Run filly Ballybacka Queen. The 10YO Champs Elysees resides at Juddmonte Farms' Banstead Manor at Newmarket in the UK where he began stud duties in 2010. By Danehill from the champion broodmare Hasili, he is a full-brother to Gr1-producing stallions Cacique and Dansili, as well as to Gr1-winning mares Banks Hill and Intercontinental. Initially trained by Andre Fabre in France, it was not until he was transferred to the stable of legendary US trainer Bobby Frankel that Champs Elysees realised his potential, winning three Gr1s, namely the Northern Dancer Turf Stakes, Hollywood Turf Club & Canadian International Stakes.
