Forte Dei Marmi Wins Canada Gr1 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes

At Woodbine in Canada, deceased former champion miler and high profile sire Selkirk (Sharpen Up-Annie Edge, by Nebbiolo) added a Gr1 triumph when 7YO gelding Forte Dei Marmi (Selkirk-Frangy, by Sadler's Wells) scored by a neck for trainer Roger Attfield in the US$290,000 Gr1 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes (12 furlongs) for 3YO+, over 4YO entire Perfect Timber (Perfect Soul-Timber Ice, by Woodman) & 3YO colt Stormy Len (Harlan's Holiday-Rietondale, by Dynaformer). In claiming his first elite victory, Forte Dei Marmi took his record to 10 wins (including the Gr2 Sky Classic Stakes, twice & the Gr3 Singspiel Stakes) & 6 placings (including the Gr1 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes & Gr1 Canadian International Stakes) from 32 starts.
