Wise Dan Wins Canada Gr1 Woodbine Mile Stakes

At Woodbine in Canada, 6YO gelding & US Horse Of The Year Wise Dan (Wiseman's Ferry-Lisa Danielle, by Wolf Power) romped home by 3.5-lengths in track-record time for trainer Charles LoPresti in the US$965,000 Gr1 Woodbine Mile Stakes (8 furlongs) for 3YOs+, over 5YO gelding Za Approval (Ghostzapper-Win Approval, by With Approval) & 5YO entire Trade Storm (Trade Fair-Frisson, by Slip Anchor). Wise Dan became the first two-time winner of the Woodbine Mile and took his record to 18 wins (including the Gr1 Turf Classic Stakes, Gr1 Breeders' Cup Mile, Keeneland Turf Mile, Gr1 Clark Handicap & Woodbine Mile) & a placing (the Gr1 Stephen Foster Handicap) from 25 starts for US$5,043,610 earnings. According to bloodhorse.com, LoPresti commented post-race, "He's a dream come true. He makes us very proud. What a wonderful horse!"
