Farley Happy With Sincero Epsom Weight

Wednesday, 18th September 2013

Wyong trainer Stephen Farley says he will consider an Epsom Handicap start for Gr1 winner Sincero (Umatilla-Yours as Always, by Prego) following the release of weights on Monday, reports theinformant.co.nz. The 6YO gelding, who won the Stradbroke Handicap & George Main Stakes in 2011, has been allotted 57kg for the $600,000 Epsom (1600m) at Randwick on October 5, an impost Farley is satisfied with. "I'm happy with his Epsom weight and it gives us another option without getting ahead of ourselves," Farley said. Farley seems content with Sincero's progress so far this campaign, despite his prima facie sub-par performance in the Gr3 Tramway Handicap when resuming. "He needed the run and it showed because he knocked up from the 100 (metres)," he said. "If he had got beaten eight lengths you would be scratching your head a bit, but he only got beaten three and a half lengths." Sincero is among 15 nominations for the Gr1 George Main Stakes (1600m) at Randwick this Saturday. Other star nominees include Gr1 winners Shoot Out, Hawkspur, King Mufhasa, Sacred Falls, Streama & Veyron.
