Keeneland Sep Day-7: Average Up 52%

At Monday's seventh session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, 292 yearlings sold for US$19,952,000, up 43.6 per cent on last year's corresponding session. Monday's average price was US$68,329 which represented an increase of 52 per cent on 2012 (US$44,963), while the median of US$57,000 was up 54 per cent from last year (US$37,000). The highest-priced yearling was a Stormy Atlantic colt out of the Ascot Knight mare Swanky Bubbles which is a half-brother to the Canadian stakes-placed filly Bubbles To The Top. Consigned by Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency as agent, the colt was sold to Conquest Stables for US$330,000. With five days remaining, gross sales of US$236,874,000 are at their highest point since 2008.
