$850,000 Oasis Dream Colt Set To Debut Soon
Initially nominated for today's Ararat Bakery 3YO Maiden Plate, before being scratched, Duelonthedowns (Oasis Dream-Sun Classique, by Fuji Kiseki) already carries the lofty expectations built on a fascinating and fiscally rich history. Dam Sun Classique (Fuji Kiseki-Elfenjer, by Last Tycoon), an Australian-bred 3-time Gr1 winner in South Africa and also successful at Gr1 level at his final outing in the Dubai Sheema Classic, was sold to Patinack Farm (from the Widden Stud draft) at the 2010 Inglis Sydney Easter Broodmare Sale for a whopping $2 million (in foal to Oasis Dream). The colt, now racing as Duelonthedowns, was then sold from the Patinack Draft at the 2012 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale for $850,000 to Hong Kong based George Moore Bloodstock. Sun Classique herself, who has a stakes race named after her in South Africa, was originally sold in-utero at the 2003 Inglis Broodmare Sale (when her dam Elfenjer went for a meagre $32,500) to the bid of Equimark.
