Turkey New Home For Dr Fong

Friday, 20th September 2013

Former Side Hill Stud and Highclere Stud resident Dr Fong (Kris S-Spring Flight, by Miswaki), who was also a shuttler to Widden Stud in Australia, has been purchased by a group of Turkish breeders in a deal brokered by Agence FIPS, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. The 18YO son of Kris S was trained by the late Sir Henry Cecil with his career highlight being the Gr1 St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot where he defeated Desert Prince. Dr Fong, who has spent the last four seasons at Haras du Thenney in Normandy, has sired 30 stakes winners including Gr1 winners Ask For The Moon, Aoife Alainn, & Shamdinan. He is a full-brother to deceased stallion Lucky Story, sire of Golden Jubilee Stakes winner Art Connoisseur and this season's leading 2YO filly Lucky Kristale. Dr Fong's best Australian performers are stakes winners Dr Nipandtuck (Listed VRC Straight Six) & Right Fong (Port Adelaide Cup).
