Groupie Doll On Track For Breeders' Cup Defence

Monday, 23rd September 2013

US champion mare Groupie Doll (Bowman's Band-Deputy Doll, by Silver Deputy) continued her preparation for the Gr2 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes at Keeneland on October 5 and a planned Gr1 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint defence with a stylish piece of trackwork at Churchill Downs on Saturday, reports bloodhorse.com. "We sent her out early this morning, because she was ready to do something," said trainer William "Buff" Bradley. "The track was sloppy, but it was sealed and it was in pretty good shape and had a good bottom to it. So we knew if we just let her go around there easy and stretch her legs, it would be good. It was perfect. Everything is going very well." If all goes to plan, the 3-time Gr1 winner's final seasonal appearance will be at Santa Anita for the Breeders' Cup meeting on November 2.
