At Royal Randwick, Darley's incumbent Champion Australian Sire Exceed And Excel (Danehill-Patrona, by Lomond) added a Gr1 triumph when 3YO filly Guelph (Exceed and Excel-Camarilla, by Elusive Quality) scored by 1.8-lengths for trainer Peter Snowden in the $175,000 Gr2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) for 3YO fillies, over fellow fillies Arabian Gold (Dubawi-Coablo, by Vettori) & Bound For Earth (Northern Meteor-Bulla Borghese, by Belong to Me). Guelph took her record to 5 wins (including the Gr1 ATC Sires' Produce Stakes, Gr1 ATC Champagne Stakes & Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude for fillies) & 2 placings (including the last-start Gr2 Furious Stakes) from 9 starts for $1,061,200 earnings.
