Keeneland Sep Day-11: Average Up 40%
At Friday's eleventh session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, 236 yearlings were sold for US$4,103,000, up 127.3 per cent from the corresponding session last year which marked the final day of the 2012 sale. The average price of US$17,386 was up 40.6 per cent on last year's US$12,363, while the median of US$12,000 was up 20 per cent from 2012 (US$10,000). Friday's highest priced yearling was a filly by Broken Vow out of the Storm Cat mare Ranter, a half-sister to leading sire Pulpit. Consigned by Claiborne Farm as agent, she was sold to Michonne Farm for US$85,000.
