Dwyer Hearing Imminent

Wednesday, 25th September 2013

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has received documentation from the Royal Western India Turf Club in relation to UK jockey Martin Dwyer's ban, reports turftrax.com. Dwyer is asking the BHA not to reciprocate his 56-day suspension which was originally handed down in February for allegedly not allowing a horse to run on its merits. Indian racing officials had controversially increased Dwyer's ban to 8-months before reducing it to its original 56-day term following representations. Dwyer is permitted to ride until October 7 or until the non-reciprocation hearing, whichever comes first. The BHA tweeted: "The disciplinary panel has extended the stay on Martin Dwyer's suspension until October 7, or until non-reciprocation application hearing." The BHA stated that a hearing date will be scheduled as soon as possible.
