Lucky Kristale In Doubt For Cheveley
Gr2-winning UK filly Lucky Kristale (Lucky Story-Pikaboo, by Pivotal) is in serious doubt for Saturday's Gr1 Cheveley Park Stakes (6 furlongs) at Newmarket due to a dirty scope, reports racingpost.com. Local trainer George Margarson was looking forward to testing the talented juvenile at Gr1 level for the first time, but may now have to wait another day. "Lucky Kristale scoped dirty after she cantered yesterday and her blood was also all wrong when we tested it later," explained Margarson. "It's no surprise as there are a few with a virus in the yard and we will continue to run tests but at the moment I would say it's pretty doubtful that she will run." The 2YO daughter of Lucky Story has won 4 of her 5 starts, including the Gr2 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket where she accounted for fellow top filly & Cheveley Park favourite Rizeena. Lucky Kristale's only defeat was at the hands of Kiyoshi in the Gr3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. The Cheveley Park has attracted a high quality field of fillies including Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Rizeena, exciting French filly Vorda, who finished runner-up to US colt No Nay Never in the Gr1 Prix Morny, & Frankel's half-sister Joyeuse.
