Slade Europe Purchase Guaranteed Cup Run

Thursday, 26th September 2013

Bruce Slade, former racing manager for Gai Waterhouse, has launched his new racing venture, Round Table Racing, with the purchase of top class European galloper Tres Blue (Anabaa Blue-Tres Ravi, by Monsun), reports racingnetwork.com.au. The French-bred Tres Blue, who is set to make his Australian debut in the Melbourne Cup (3200m) at Flemington on November 5, will arrive at Werribee on October 19. "He has winning weight-for-age form around the leading chances in Europe's upcoming premier event, the Gr1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, and in the past couple of weeks the form around him has just got stronger and stronger," said Slade. "He is an elite class racehorse who is set to carry a very light weight in this year's Melbourne Cup. That has to make him a leading chance." Tres Blue, the winner of the Gr3 Prix de Reux & Gr3 Prix de Deauville at his last two outings, is guaranteed a start in the Melbourne Cup in which he has been allocated just 51kg. He will be trained by Gai Waterhouse.
