Capetown Noir Return In Matchem

Friday, 27th September 2013

Dual classic winning 4YO Capetown Noir (Western Winter-Akinfeet, by Fort Wood) may make his seasonal reappearance in the R200,000 Matchem Stakes at Durbanville on Saturday 5th October, reports goldcircle.co.za. "There is a possibility that Capetown Noir could run. He has put on some nice condition since last season, and I am going to work him on the grass on Thursday and see how he is," explained trainer Dean Kannemeyer. "His targets are the L'Ormarins Queen's Plate and the J&B Met but the Green Point Stakes at Kenilworth on November 23 could also be part of the programme." Capetown Noir, a full-brother to Gr3-winning South African galloper Across The Ice, has won 6 of his 11 starts including the Gr1 Cape Guineas & Gr1 Cape Derby at Kenilworth, for earnings of R1,621,950.
