O'Shea: Rosehill Not Ideal For Savvy Nature

Friday, 27th September 2013

Randwick trainer John O'Shea admits he has some concerns about running talented 3YO Savvy Nature (Savabeel-Generous Nature, by Carnegie) at Rosehill tomorrow, reports racingnetwork.com.au. The son of Waikato Stud's Savabeel scored an impressive last-start victory in the Gr3 Spring Stakes at Newcastle and will line up in Saturday's $200,000 Gr3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m). "The horse is really well. He's trained on nicely since Newcastle," O'Shea said. However, he added, "The only query I have is going back to Rosehill Gardens instead of Randwick. He's a horse who likes to get back and swoop and that can be a problem at Rosehill sometimes." Savvy Nature, who has won 2 of his 4 starts for earnings of $119,150, will carry the colours of owner Max Whitby and be ridden by young Kiwi ace James McDonald.
