Salade Serves Up Impressive First Foal

Friday, 27th September 2013

In breeding news, Carrington Park based sire Salade (Snitzel-Just as Beautiful, by Beautiful Crown) recently had his first foal hit the ground in the form of the impressively conformed colt out of beautifully bred mare Evening Charmer (Woodman-Take Heart, by Secretariat). Salade, a brilliant early juvenile who scored at Gr2 level on debut in the Pago Pago Stakes, is also the first son of champion sire and leading speed influence Snitzel to stand at stud. Evening Charmer's pedigree is littered with black-type, being principally a half-sister to US Gr1 winner Spinning Round (by Dixieland Band), herself the dam of dual Gr1 winner Dream Supreme (by Seeking The Gold). Dream Supreme has subsequently produced three stakes winners, including Gr1 Hopeful Stakes winning colt Majestic Warrior (by A.P. Indy). Evening Charmer has dropped 10 foals for 7 winners and the colt in picture is a half to multiple stakes-placed colt Ebony Rock (by Fastnet Rock).
