At Newmarket in the UK, former Coolmore shuttler Orpen (Lure-Bonita Francita, by Devil's Bag) added a Gr1 success when French-bred 2YO filly Vorda (Orpen-Velda, by Observatory) scored by 0.75-length for trainer Philippe Sogorb in the £180,000 Gr1 Cheveley Park Stakes (6 furlongs) for 2YO fillies, over fellow fillies Princess Noor (Holy Roman Emperor-Gentle Night, by Zafonic) & Kiyoshi (Dubawi-Mocca, by Sri Pekan). This was Vorda's maiden Gr1 triumph and took her record to 4 wins (including the Gr2 Prix Robert Papin) & a placing (the Gr1 Prix Morny) from 5 starts for £273,710 earnings.
