Freddie Head: Treve Will Win Arc

Wednesday, 2nd October 2013

Trainer Freddy Head, brother of Criquette Head, is adamant that his sister's undefeated 3YO filly Treve (Motivator-Trevise, by Anabaa) can become the fourth female in six years to win the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on Sunday, reports racinguk.com. The unbeaten Treve is currently second-favourite behind Japanese star Orfevre, despite posting a faster time than the latter's Prix Foy success when winning the Gr1 Prix Vermeille over the Arc course and distance two weeks ago. According to Head, Treve is primed to join Zarkava (2008), Danedream (2011) & Solemia (2012) as recent female winners of Europe's most prestigious race. "I think Treve will win the Arc," Head said matter-of-factly. "Fillies do well in the autumn and the weight for age is good for her. She's in top form and she can go in any ground. She's top class." Treve will be striving for her third successive Gr1 success following her wins in the Gr1 Prix de Diane & the Gr1 Prix Vermeille.
