Meehan & Sangsters Part Ways

Wednesday, 2nd October 2013

UK trainer Brian Meehan and the Sangster family have announced they have ended their successful seven-year association, reports racingpost.com. Meehan, who replaced John Gosden as the Sangster's head trainer in 2006, said the decision was a mutual one and that he would stay on at the famous Manton training estate in Wiltshire. Meehan will sign a 3-year lease on the Astor and Manton House yards at Manton House Estate, commencing December 1. "This is a mutual decision between myself and the Sangster family," Meehan said in a statement. "Personally, I am delighted to be remaining at Manton, an area that I first came to in 1987, almost 30 years ago. I cannot thank Guy, Ben and Sam Sangster and the rest of the Sangster family enough for their support and close friendship."
