Son Of Golden Slipper Winner To Debut Today
Polarmore, a son of Golden Slipper winner Polar Success, will make his debut in the TAB.com.au Handicap (1100m) at Canterbury today. The John O'Shea-trained 3YO colt, a half-brother to stakes-placed Giant's Causeway filly Polaway, will be the fourth foal from Polar Success to make it to the track. Consigned by Twin Palms Stud, Polarmore (More Than Ready) was knocked down to Segenhoe Thoroughbreds for $500,000 at the 2012 Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale. Polar Success was a precocious juvenile who won 4 of her 17 starts, including the 2003 Golden Slipper & Gr2 Reisling Slipper Trial, for career earnings of $2,171,505. This is the same family as Gr1 Australian Oaks winner Circles Of Gold, dam of multiple Gr1 winning sires Elvstroem & Haradasun. Polarmore, who will be ridden by James McDonald, has won two barrier trials leading into today's event so a forward showing is on the cards.
