Ground Not An Issue For Novellist

Thursday, 3rd October 2013

Meanwhile, the prospect of rain should not be a concern for Novellist (Monsun-Night Lagoon, by Lagunas), who has won on conditions ranging from good to firm to soft, reports sportinglife.com. Trainer Andreas Wohler is confident Novellist is a much fitter horse than when he won the Gr1 Grosser Preis von Baden on September 1st and is happy with his charge leading into the Arc. Novellist is unbeaten this season, including three victories at Gr1 level, but he really captured people's attention with his brilliant win in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot when setting a new track record. "The horse is very well and he did his last piece of work (on Monday)," commented Wohler. "Everything has gone smooth and fine since his last race and hopefully it will for the next couple of days so we are looking forward to Sunday. Orfevre couldn't be more impressive in his trial and he's a horse with a lot of class. We just need a bit of luck, like everybody."
