Treve Thriving Ahead Of Arc

Thursday, 3rd October 2013

Unbeaten French filly Treve (Motivator-Trevise, by Anabaa) has completed her final serious Arc workout with her trainer believing the filly has "improved enormously" since her win in the Prix Vermeille last month, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. Trainer Criquette Head-Maarek watched the 3YO stride out over a mile on Tuesday and was buoyant about her chances of recording a fifth straight victory at Longchamp. "I think she has improved enormously in her physique since the trial," Head-Maarek said after watching her dual Gr1 winner sprint clear of her two work partners. Head-Maarek, who won the Arc in 1979 with Three Troikas, nominated Japanese star Orfevre as the horse to beat. "Orfevre is the one that scares me," she said. "He won very well and has a really sharp turn of foot."
