Inglis Ready 2 Run Sale: New Breeze-Up Records Set
The inaugural Inglis Ready 2 Run Sale at Newmarket in Sydney concluded on Thursday with 91 2YOs (195 catalogued) selling for a total of $6,983,500. The average of $76,742 and the median of $60,000 set new benchmarks for breeze-up sales in Australasia. "I am delighted to have set a new Australasian record average price and median for this type of sale in our first year. We've had wonderful support from leading vendors in Australia and New Zealand, and are well placed to take this sale to greater heights next year," said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster. Three-year-old colt Distorted Demand, the final lot offered on the day, topped the sale when picked up by Sydney trainer Mauro Poletti for $310,000 from the draft of Carinya Lodge. By Red Ransom from the Gr3-placed Distorted Humor mare Twisted Heart, Distorted Demand is a half-brother to Gr1-winning Singapore galloper Speed Baby.
