Eliza Park International Buys Voleuse De Coeurs
In a coup one month before the Melbourne Cup, Eliza Park International has confirmed the purchase of 2013 Cups aspirant Voleuse de Coeurs. The deal was completed on Friday. The recent winner of the Gr1 Irish St Leger, Voleuse de Coeurs has rapidly firmed in betting for Australia's most famous race and is now part of an ownership group which includes EPI Chairman, Mr Ting Kong Cheng. "We are very excited at the prospect of having a runner in this year's Melbourne Cup and playing a part in the spring carnival," Eliza Park International's CEO, Alvin Lui said. "Our bloodstock adviser David O'Callaghan felt she had the right profile for the race and, particularly as she is already a Group One winner, has tremendous residual value." Voleuse de Coeurs entered quarantine in Newmarket on Thursday after reportedly traveling well from Ireland and is due to arrive in Australia on Caulfield Cup Day before coming out of quarantine by Derby Day. Voleuse De Coeurs will be trained by Mike Moroney, trainer of previous Melbourne Cup winner Brew. Watch her Irish St Leger win below.
