Moonlight Cloud To Bypass Breeders' Cup

Wednesday, 9th October 2013

Exceptional European sprinting mare Moonlight Cloud has effectively been ruled out of heading across the Atlantic Ocean for the Breeders' Cup meeting. Now the winner of 6 Gr1 races, three of them this year, the Freddy Head-trained speedster is considered a chance of heading to Hong Kong, with Head acknowledging to 1.skysports.com after her Longchamp assignement: "She is very well this morning. She is something special. It was a brilliant performance from her. Thierry (Jarnet) took his time and she showed a great turn of foot. I think it is doubtful she will go to Santa Anita, but she probably will go to Hong Kong, that seems for sure." There is a also a chance that Moonlight Cloud, who Head described as "fresh and well" could remain in training as a 6YO.
