While the record-setting 3.6 million guineas Galileo colt stole the show yesterday, Qatar's Al Shaqab Racing played a pivotal hand in ensuring the success of the opening day of the Tattersalls October Book 1 Sale. Al Shaqab Racing, owned by Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, purchased the 2nd, 3rd & 4th highest priced yearlings, spending 600,000 guineas each on a Montjeu colt & an Invincible Spirit filly, as well as 550,000 guineas for a Sea The Stars colt & 525,000 guineas for a Raven's Pass colt.
