Moonee Valley Cup Target For Sangster

Friday, 11th October 2013

Meanwhile, NZ Racing Desk also reports that three-time Gr1-winning NZ galloper Sangster (Savabeel-Quinta Special, by Spectrum) will be aimed at the Moonee Valley Cup on Cox Plate day. The 5YOs immediate future was in doubt following his last-placed effort in last Saturday's Gr1 Turnbull Stakes at Flemington. However, trainers Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young confirmed that the son of Savabeel was found to be suffering from bruised feet which have healed significantly due to some therapeutic beach work. "He was very jarred up and has quite sore feet," Busuttin said. "We were expecting a similar run to Silent Achiever (sixth) and then we would have been right on target for the Caulfield Cup, but we will alter our plans to target the Moonee Valley Cup."
