War Front Fee Raised By Claiborne
Claiborne Farm in Kentucky has announced it will increase the stud fee for its exciting stallion War Front next year, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. The 11YO son of speed influence Danzig will stand at US$150,000 in 2014, nearly double his present fee of US$80,000. War Front (Danzig-Starry Dreamer, by Rubiano) has enjoyed a fabulous last 12 months with his progeny starring in feature races around the world. In his native US, he has sired Gr2 winners Departing, Bashart & War Dancer, but it is his European representatives that have made the biggest headlines with Ballydoyle gallopers Declaration Of War (Gr1 Queen Anne Stakes & Gr1 Juddmonte International) & War Command (Gr2 Coventry stakes) leading the way. From just five crops of racing age, War Front has hitherto sired 129 individual winners, including 24 stakes winners & four Gr1 winners, namely The Factor, Data Link, Summer Soiree, and the abovementioned Declaration Of War. Underlying War Front's rapidly increasing popularity is the fact he sired the US$2.5 million sale topper at the recent Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
