Complacent Wins Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes

At Randwick, triple Gr1-winning former English Derby victor & Darley shuttler Authorized (Montjeu-Funsie, by Saumarez) sired his first Australian Gr1 winner when 3YO colt Complacent (Authorized-Insouciance, by Quest for Fame) scored by 1.3-lengths for trainer Peter Snowden in the $400,000 Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) for 3YO c&g, over fellow 3YO colt Criterion (Sebring-Mica's Pride, by Bite the Bullet) & 3YO gelding Savvy Nature (Savabeel-Generous Nature, by Carnegie). This was Complacent's first victory at the elite level and took his record to 3 wins (including the Gr3 Gloaming Stakes) & 2 placings from 5 starts for $395,225 earnings.
