Phil's Dream Wins Canada Gr1 Nearctic Stakes

At Woodbine in Canada, 5YO gelding Phil's Dream (Philanthropist-Dream a Dream, by Exploding Rainbow) scored an upset 2-lengths win for trainer Paul Buttigieg in the US$300,000 Gr1 Nearctic Stakes (6 furlongs) for 3YO+, over 4YO gelding Mr Online (Silent Name-Our Miss Jones, by Alphabet Soup) & fellow 5YO gelding Longhunter (Halling-Dawnus, by Night Shift). This was Phil's Dream's first Gr1 victory and took his record to 7 wins & 3 placings from 12 starts. Winning trainer Paul Buttigieg told drf.com, "When he found room, he exploded. He's a good horse."
