Shantaram To Stand At Coolagown Stud

Tuesday, 15th October 2013

Last season's Gr3 Bahrain Trophy winner Shantaram (Galileo-All's Forgotten, by Darshaan) has joined the stallion roster at Coolagown Stud in Ireland, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. Trained by leading UK horseman John Gosden, the 4YO won 2 of his 6 starts for £49,829 earnings. After his impressive Bahrain victory at Newmarket, Shantaram was promoted to second-favourite behind Camelot for the English St Leger in a clear endorsement of his talent. Unfortunately he was ruled out of the Gr1 classic and ran only once after that. Gosden said: "Shantaram is a fine, good-looking horse who was well balanced and a genuine individual." By Galileo from the Darshaan mare All's Forgotten, Shantaram is a full-brother to Jim Bolger's 2,000 Guineas third Gan Amhras. No service fee has been announced.
