It's A Dundeel Impresses In Caulfield Workout

Thursday, 17th October 2013

Cox Plate-bound galloper It's A Dundeel (High Chaparral-Stareel, by Zabeel) pleased regular rider James McDonald when galloping between races at Caulfield yesterday, reports NZ Racing Desk. "He was a bit fresh and he worked into the 600 quite strongly and finished off really impressively. He doesn't really work that hard without a mate, so without the blinkers on he cruised around here and he felt brilliant," McDonald said. It's A Dundeel missed a planned run in last Saturday's Gr1 Caulfield Stakes due to a burst foot abscess, but trainer Murray Baker doesn't seem too concerned. "He missed a couple of days work at the start of last week, but that's about it," he said. "He's a good relaxed horse and he doesn't do much on his own, so we hope he did enough today. We'll take him to the Breakfast with the Stars next Tuesday at Moonee Valley and get a mate for him and hopefully see if we can top him off a bit more."
