James: Silent Achiever Primed For Cup
Top class New Zealand mare Silent Achiever (O'Reilly-Winning Spree, by Zabeel) will be Roger James' first Caulfield Cup runner when she lines up in the world's richest mile-and-a half handicap at Caulfield on Saturday, reports NZ Racing Desk. Last year's New Zealand Derby winner has drawn well in barrier five and will be ridden by proven big-race jockey Glen Boss. "It's all up to Bossy now," James said. "I've made no secret of the fact that I'm thrilled with her. I think I've done my job. She was in good order going into the BMW in the autumn when she finished second to Fiveandahalfstar and I think she's in better order now." James said Silent Achiever, who was a fast-finishing sixth in the Gr1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) two weeks ago, would appreciate stepping up to the 2400m. "Her record's very good at a mile and a-half," he said. "I just hope we can carry the Kiwi flag with pride and bring the Caulfield Cup home."
