Needs Further Stud Career Off To Promising Start

Thursday, 17th October 2013

Beautifully bred young Armidale Stud sire Needs Further (Encosta de Lago-Crowned Glory, by Danehill) is relishing his new career as a stallion and early pregnancy scans indicate a high fertility rate, which is great news for owners of the quality broodmares booked into him. Armidale's leading broodmare Queen's Own, dam of multiple group winning Tasmanian mare Lady Lynette, is carrying one of his earlier pregnancies. Among the other well-performed mares that are booked into the 6YO son of champion sire Encosta de Lago are Hennessy mare Caralowe (dam of Gr3 winner Triple Asset), stakes winning Ladoni mare Gehenna, stakes-placed mare Buzzing Along,  Gr3 VRC St Leger winner Wexford, & city winning mares Oceans (Fastnet Rock) & Satin Choice (Redoute's Choice). Needs Further's owners are also offering $20,000 in bonuses to the breeders of his first winners - $10,000 to his first metropolitan winner & $10,000 to his first stakes winner. Trained by Gai Waterhouse and bred by Gooree Stud, Needs Further showed tremendous talent in his brief career with 3 wins from 5 starts including the Gr2 Carbine Club Stakes. Out of Golden Slipper runner-up Crowned Glory (Danehill), Needs Further boasts some serious stallion credentials hailing from the same family as champion New Zealand sire Zabeel.
