Farhh Wins UK Gr1 Champion Stakes

Monday, 21st October 2013

At Ascot in the UK, 5YO colt Farhh (Pivotal-Gonbarda, by Lando) scored by a neck for trainer Saeed Bin Suroor in the £1.3million Gr1 Champion Stakes (10 furlongs) for 3YO+, over 7YO gelding Cirrus Des Aigles (Even Top-Taille de Guepe, by Septieme Ciel) & 3YO colt Ruler Of The World (Galileo-Love Me True, by Kingmambo). In what was his final racetrack appearance, Farhh took his record to 5 wins (including the Gr1 Lockinge Stakes) & 5 placings (including the Gr1 Susses Stakes, Gr1 Juddmonte International Stakes & Gr1 Eclipse Stakes) from 10 starts for £1,317,628 earnings. Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford told racingpost.com: "Saeed has done a magnificent job getting him back to win the Champion Stakes. He's been lightly raced because of irritating issues which have kept him off the track, but he is a great horse. He has done enough." Farhh will retire to Darley's Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket. Footage of his victory is below.
