Colic Claims US Gr1 Winner Dullahan
In a tragic turn of events for connections, just retired US Gr1 winner Dullahan has died "due to complications of colic" reports sportsnetwork.com. The triple Gr1 winner (Breeders' Futurity, Blue Grass Stakes & Pacific Classic) had his retirement announced last Tuesday as a result of a tendon injury only to face surgery last Saturday night for colic which he succumbed to on Sunday. Dullahan's trainer Dale Romans paid tribute to the son of Even The Score: "It is with deep regret that we share the news of the sudden passing of Donegal Racing's Dullahan. He was a true champion on the track and in our hearts. He will be missed by all of us at Romans Racing. Our sincere condolences are with his connections at this sad time."
