Failed Appeal Means Hall To Miss Cox Plate
Caulfield Cup-winning jockey Nick Hall has failed in his bid to have a careless riding suspension overturned and will miss Saturday's Cox Plate ride on imported galloper Masked Marvel, reports racingnetwork.com.au. Hall's poor record counted against him when he faced Victoria's Racing & Appeals Disciplinary (RAD) Board yesterday, although he did succeed in having his 10-meeting suspension reduced by two meetings. "The problem for the Board not acceding to the submission from Hall is the appalling record of Hall," Judge Russell Lewis said. "The Board would like for Hall to ride in the Cox Plate, but we must apply the basic principles." Michael Rodd has been announced as the new rider for the Lloyd Williams-owned Masked Marvel.
