Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearlings Sale Day-1: Median Up 30%
At Monday's opening day of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearlings Sale at Lexington, 258 yearlings sold for a total of US$7,358,000. The average of US$28,519 was up 15.6 per cent on last year's corresponding session, while the US$16,500 median was 26.9 per cent higher than 2012. The day's top lot was a colt by Harlan's Holiday from the Unbridled's Song mare Unbridled Melody which sold for US$250,000 to Nick de Meric. "He's a beautiful colt, well-bred, by a top stallion, and he's about as nice a walker as you'd ever see in a yearling. We're excited to have him," said De Meric. Consigned by Taylor Made sales agency, the colt is a half-brother to US stakes winner Michael With Us (Bluegrass Cat).
